2-Year & 3-Year Old Preschool Class
Two and three year olds like to be independant so they want to do everything by themselves. Little boys will play alot with cars while the little girls choose to play more with baby dolls and have tea parties. We work on introducing shapes, colors, simple items to identify such as ball, animals, birds, cars, etc. We will also work on zippers, buttons, snaps, in order to help dress ourselves. Manners are also introduced at an early age as well as sharing and cleaning up after themselves. Socializing amongst other children is also encouraged.
Transitional Pre-Kindergarten Class
Four and five year olds are past the "little kid" stage so they are more of the BIG BROTHER/ BIG SISTER who mostly take the younger children under their wing. We will will be teaching the sounds and recognition of the alphabet and pre-reading skills, numbers and math skills. They will master writing the letters and numbers while working with them. Repetition the key to remembering! The children will also be able to make up stories and put together a timeline...what happens first, second, last. The older the children get, the less time they will need to nap. Therefore, we have quiet time activities for those who won't nap, but are invited to lay quietly or even doze off to recharge for afternoon play.
